Egypt Post issues a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Republic of Egypt Proclamation, after success of revolution of July 23,1952, the abolition of monarchy in Egypt, and the appointment of General Mohamed Naguib (the Revolution Commander) as the first president of Egypt, under the constitutional proclamation issued on 18th June 1953, this day was declared as the Republic day, and “Abdeen Palace” was chosen to be a presidential place and called “the Republic Palace”.
