Egypt Post has issued a commemorative stamp  to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Asyut Court of Appeal. The Asyut Court of Appeal is one of the oldest appellate courts in Egypt; it was established in 1926 by a decree from the King of Egypt, King Fuad I, who deemed it necessary to create an appellate court in Asyut to ensure the proper administration of justice and to alleviate the hardships faced by litigants from Upper Egypt, who previously had to travel long distances from their home governorates to reach Cairo. injured by the British occupation.
