Egypt Post has issued a commemorative miniature sheet to mark the 25th anniversary of establishing the National Council for Women. The Council was established by Presidential Decree No. 90 of 2000 as a national independent women machinery in Egypt, it is affiliated to the President of the Republic of Egypt. It proposes public policies to society and its constitutional institutions, in appreciation of the role of the Egyptian women and their continuous efforts in supporting the development process and building society.

The Council seeks to consolidate the acknowledgement of the rights Egyptian women, their recognition as stipulated in the Constitution, and to respect and protect these rights, considering the interrelated principles of social justice, equal opportunities, equality, non-discrimination, and empowerment.
